
“Count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.” That is a song we’ve sung often, but not very often do we sit down and actually, one by one enumerate God’s particular blessings. Well, I have done so, but the list I came up with is only just a beginning—and, truthfully, I was not surprised at what the Lord has done. Here are a few of the blessings “one by one:”
- Knowing God Who is a “great God, and a great King above all gods.” (Ps. 95:3)
- Acceptance in the Beloved, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (Eph. 1:6)
- Prayer privileges (Hebrews 4:16)
- A Bible to read in my language
- The Comforter (Holy Spirit) within me at all times (John 14:17)
- Hope wrought of patience (Romans 5:4)
- A Bible-preaching church to attend

So true. We are so blessed! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow with family. So sorry we missed you our last visit but glad you were able to return to the church. You had pastored for a while as you think of me, please pray for peace and joy. I’m finding these holidays a bit sadder than normal with missing Dave. God continues to be so good and so faithful and I’m thankful I still have time to serve him. Love you and Ellen, Betsy.
